PUBG Mobile Flash Is the New Name for PUBG Mobile Light: November 2026 Launch and How It Differs From PUBG Mobile Lite
PUBG Mobile has renamed its lightweight app. PUBG Mobile Light is now PUBG Mobile Flash (officially styled PUBG MOBILE FLASH). The announcement went up on the official PUBG MOBILE X account on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 07:23 UTC. According to the post, only the name changes. The official launch is still set for November 2026, and anyone who already pre-registered doesn’t need to do anything: the registration carries over to PUBG Mobile Flash automatically.
PUBG Mobile hasn’t said why it changed the name. In practice, the new name is at least easier to tell apart from PUBG Mobile Lite, the older lightweight game that is still on Google Play. They are two different apps. Here’s what’s official, what isn’t yet, and how to tell all three apart.
What Is PUBG Mobile Flash?
PUBG Mobile Flash is a separate app that runs the same PUBG Mobile, just with a much smaller initial download. It was first announced as PUBG Mobile Light on August 16, 2026 and detailed in an official press release on August 25, 2026. The key points:
- Straight to Erangel. Once installed, you can jump into classic battle royale on Erangel with up to 100 players, with no extra download first.
- Download what you need. Miramar and Sanhok, plus the Team Deathmatch and Metro Royale modes, can be downloaded later from inside the game. The lobby is also more minimal.
- Updated alongside PUBG Mobile. The official FAQ says the lightweight app stays in sync with PUBG Mobile over the long term, so new content arrives in both apps.
- Same publisher. On Google Play, PUBG Mobile Flash is listed under Level Infinite with the tagline “The Original PUBG MOBILE, Now in a Flash”.
One Account With PUBG Mobile, Cross-Play Included
This is the part that matters most for current players. According to the official FAQ, one account can log in to either PUBG Mobile or the lightweight app and switch between them at any time. Friends and items stay the same, and players on both apps can squad up as usual. The press release describes it as sharing “the same ecosystem”: game data and account assets carry over, and cross-play with PUBG Mobile is supported.
On UC, the official announcements haven’t mentioned it specifically. What has been confirmed is that account assets, items and friends lists are shared. Details on purchases inside PUBG Mobile Flash are best confirmed once the game launches.
Launch Date, Download Size and Pre-Registration Rewards
- Pre-registration opened on August 25, 2026 on the App Store and Google Play, rolling out by region. The page now lives at pubgmobile.com/en/flash/pre-register, and the old
/light/address redirects there. - Launch date: PUBG Mobile says November 2026, and the official FAQ narrows it to “mid-November 2026”. The App Store pre-order page lists an expected date of November 12, 2026, but PUBG Mobile itself hasn’t announced an exact day.
- Size: under 1 GB on Android and under 2 GB on iOS according to the FAQ, which notes that the final size follows the app store listing. Right now the App Store lists 1.7 GB for PUBG Mobile Flash (compared with 4 GB for PUBG Mobile) and requires iOS 13.0 or later. Minimum Android specs, such as RAM, have not been announced.
- Pre-registration rewards: the official page promises rewards worth a total of US$1 million, combining in-game and out-of-game rewards, with actual value varying by region. Rewards are sent when the game officially launches. The specific items haven’t been revealed.
- Regions: no country list has been published. As of September 25, the App Store pre-order page is live in the Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore stores. A closed beta test (CBT) ran “in selected countries” without naming them.
PUBG Mobile vs PUBG Mobile Lite vs PUBG Mobile Flash
PUBG Mobile Lite is not an earlier version of Flash. According to the FAQ on the official PUBG Mobile Lite site, Lite is an independent game: its accounts are not shared with PUBG Mobile and can’t be transferred, Lite players can’t team up with friends on PUBG Mobile, and item prices are different. It also uses a different currency, BC (Battle Coin), not UC.

PUBG Mobile Lite details come from its Google Play page and official site. PUBG Mobile hasn’t announced any link between Lite and Flash. What’s official so far: Flash uses your PUBG Mobile account, while Lite accounts have always been separate from PUBG Mobile.
So Which One Should You Play?
The official FAQ keeps it simple: if you want everything in one step without extra downloads, stick with PUBG Mobile. If you want to save storage and get into a match faster, wait for PUBG Mobile Flash. Since the account is shared, you can switch between them whenever you like.
