Southeast Asia’s run ended on 9 October. Paper Rex, the Singapore-based team with Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto (Indonesia), Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee (Malaysia), Adrian “invy” Reyes (Philippines) and Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie (Singapore), led 9-3 at half time on Summit, the deciding map. T1 then won 10 of the next 12 rounds to close it 13-11. Paper Rex and Nongshim finish 7th to 8th with USD 50,000 each.
Standout individual lines: lukxo (LOUD) went 63/33/9 (K/D/A) against NRG, Cryocells (100T) 56/27/13 against Nongshim, and jawgemo (G2) 58/47/14 against T1. Our recap of the earlier quarterfinals is in the G2 vs 100T and Vitality vs NS results article.
Vitality vs LOUD and 100T vs G2: Both Are Rematches
Vitality vs LOUD repeats their Group B match on Wednesday, 30 September, which Vitality won 2-0. It is the only official meeting between the two listed on VLR.gg and Liquipedia. In the upper semifinal, Vitality won Abyss, G2’s pick, 13-11 and then closed Split 13-4.
100 Thieves vs G2 is their fifth meeting of the 2026 season. G2 won three of the previous four, including 2-0 in the Champions quarterfinal on 8 October; 100 Thieves won 2-1 in VCT Americas Stage 2 in July. The loser of this match finishes fourth.
One rule favours the team coming down from the upper bracket. Under the official Champions Shanghai ruleset, in any lower bracket match where one team has dropped from the upper bracket, that team is the higher seed for map selection. So the upper final loser will be the higher seed in the lower final on 17 October.

New VALORANT Agent Reveal on 18 October
In its official Grand Finals Weekend preview published on 14 October, Riot says it will reveal a new agent live on the broadcast before the grand final on 18 October. On 15 October at 19.00 WIB (20.00 SGT), the official VALORANT YouTube channel posted a 47-second new agent teaser called “FINAL WORD”. The agent’s name, role and abilities have not been officially announced, so any ability list circulating before 18 October is a leak.
The 18 October show opens with a “Frag or Die” themed Opening Ceremony before the two finalists walk out. The official graphic lists 2:00 PM Shanghai time (13.00 WIB, 14.00 SGT) and five performers: Oli Sykes, Courtney LaPlante, Grabbitz, keshi and Nana OuYang. A day earlier, on 17 October, there is a showmatch between Team Omega, captained by TenZ, and Team Alpha, captained by Karry Wang.
