October 7 to 11 is played at Jing’an Sports Center, the final three days at Mercedes-Benz Arena. All eight teams start in the upper bracket of a double-elimination bracket: one loss drops you to the lower bracket, two send you home. Every series is best-of-three except the lower final and Grand Final, which are best-of-five. The prize pool is USD 2.25 million, with USD 1 million for the champion.
Who Will Paper Rex Face?
Under the official Champions Shanghai ruleset, the bracket is set by a draw: group winners in pool 1, runners-up in pool 2, and two teams from the same group cannot be placed on the same side. Same-region matchups are allowed. So Paper Rex will meet the Group A, B or D runner-up in the upper quarterfinals, and an all-Pacific tie, for example against Nongshim RedForce, is still possible.
