Pokémon UNITE End of Service March 23, 2027: Aeos Gems No Longer Sold
Pokémon UNITE will end service on Tuesday, March 23, 2027 at 07:00 WIB (00:00 UTC, 08:00 in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines), on both Nintendo Switch and mobile. The announcement went up on the official Pokémon UNITE website on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, and Aeos gem sales were suspended the same day at 12:00 WIB. Aeos gems already in your account stay usable until shutdown, new UNITE Club memberships are closed, a farewell event starts on November 12, and the Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament still goes ahead. The official notices use UTC; every time below is converted to WIB, and you can add one hour for Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

The official Asia website for Pokémon UNITE lists the same dates and times as the global site, so this schedule applies to players in Southeast Asia as well.
Aeos Gems Are No Longer Sold: What Happens to the Gems You Have?
Since October 27, 2026 at 12:00 WIB, new Aeos gems can no longer be purchased. Gems you already own can still be spent until March 23, 2027 at 07:00 WIB. After that they cannot be used at all, and the update notice on the Asia site specifically asks players to use their remaining Aeos gems before that date.
Refunds differ by region. The Japan notice and a separate notice for players living in Taiwan both describe refunds for paid gems left unused when service ends, with the procedure to be announced after shutdown. The English notices on the global and Asia websites do not mention any refund. That is different from the League Classic shutdown in LoL, which came with RP refunds. For accounts in Indonesia and the rest of Southeast Asia, the safe approach is to spend leftover Aeos gems before March 23, 2027.
UNITE Club: Active Members Keep Their Benefits Until Expiry
The monthly UNITE Club subscription stopped accepting new members on October 27, 2026 at 12:00 WIB, and automatic renewals for existing members were suspended at the same time. If you are still a member, your benefits continue until the end of your current membership period and then stop without renewing.
Grand Shop Sale: Up to 80% Off Until Shutdown
According to the update notice on the official Asia website, the in-game shop is running a Grand Shop Sale with discounts of up to 80% from October 27, 2026 at 12:00 WIB until service ends. The shop lineup is also being refreshed with returning items, including Holowear and Trainer fashion items that were previously exclusive to events and battle passes and have never been sold in the shop. The same shop items will also be obtainable through the Unite Coin Exchange. This Grand Shop Sale section appears on the Asia and Japan websites but not in the global version of the notice.
November 12 Update: Unite Coin Exchange and the Library Feature
The update on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 11:00 WIB adds four things:
- Unite Coin Exchange: trade Unite coins for items that have appeared in the game before, such as Unite licenses, Holowear, Trainer fashion items, and Unite Snapshot items.
- Unite Coin missions: winning in ranked matches and in each other battle mode completes missions, and each completed mission gives one or more Unite coins.
- Unite Coin log-in bonus: a second source of coins that runs alongside the missions.
- Library feature: a personal archive that stays accessible after service ends.
The Library lets you visit the Practice Area and view your Holowear, Unite licenses, Trainer fashion, emblems, achievements, and tournament records after March 23, 2027. The catch: the Library data must finish downloading before shutdown. It downloads automatically when you play normally or when you first open the Library after November 12. If that first download is not complete by March 23, 2027 at 07:00 WIB, the Library will not work. Items and records you earn after the first download are added automatically.
A few limits to keep in mind:
- Library data generally cannot be transferred to another device, and if it is deleted after service ends it may not be recoverable.
- Battle items, held items, and boost emblems are view only in the Library. The developer recommends finishing boost emblem merges and held item upgrades before March 23, 2027 at 07:00 WIB.
- There is no Support for the Library after shutdown. Other issues can still be reported to Support until service ends.
Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo Still On: Southeast Asia Qualifier Dates
The official Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 tournament is going ahead as planned. Southeast Asian regions have their own online qualifiers:

The registration site for Indonesia is still listed as “to be announced”, while Malaysia and Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand already have registration links on the official page. The offline finals take place in Tokyo on March 20 to 21, 2027, two days before service ends. Day 1 is a round robin with 32 teams split into 8 groups, and on Day 2 the top two teams from each group play single elimination. Every match uses the All-Star Draft rule, there is no general admission seating, and all matches are streamed on official channels in multiple languages.
Why Is Pokémon UNITE Shutting Down?
The official notices do not give a reason. The global, Asia, and Japan versions only cover the schedule, Aeos gems, UNITE Club, the farewell event, and the tournament. Pokémon UNITE launched on Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021 and on mobile on September 22, 2021, so it will have run for about five years and eight months.
