EA SPORTS FC Mobile version 28.0.01 went live on the App Store at 08:39 WIB that day (09:39 in Malaysia and Singapore), the same day EA posted the official FC Mobile 27 patch notes. Here is how it all works.

How to Use Game Plans in FC Mobile 27
Game Plans combine a formation and a mentality into one preset. The mentality moves three levers at once: team width, attacking runs and the height of your defensive line. According to the Game Plans Deep Dive, it also changes how hard your team presses.
- Go to My Team, then Club. The Game Plans button sits in the left menu, where Formations used to be.
- Tap the + sign underneath to create a new Game Plan.
- Pick a Mentality and a Formation, then press Confirm.
- Repeat for up to 4 Game Plans. Game Plans are saved per lineup, so set them up for every lineup you use.
- During a match, open the drop-down menu in the top right corner to switch Game Plans.
Game Plans only work in H2H matches such as Division Rivals and in certain PvE matches that use your own Ultimate Team. They are not available in VSA, Manager Mode or matches with a pre-set team.
The Five Mentalities and When to Use Them
| Mentality | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Ultra Attacking | An urgent push for a goal, especially late on | Big spaces behind your defence, more counterattack and offside risk, stamina drains faster |
| Attacking | Building pressure without committing as many players | Losing the ball can lead to dangerous counterattacks |
| Balanced | Most match situations | Less attacking pressure than the attacking options, less protection than the defensive ones |
| Defensive | Protecting a lead or slowing down a dominant opponent | Fewer forward passing options, counterattacks are harder to build |
| Ultra Defensive | Holding on under heavy pressure | Forwards get isolated, and sitting deep invites long shots, crosses and corners |
EA adds two tips: switch at key moments, such as after the score changes or late in the match, rather than flipping back and forth, and remember that players need time to move into their new positions even though the change applies instantly.
Gauntlet Mode in FC Mobile: Rules and Tips
Gauntlet is a run of rounds built to test squad depth. The Gauntlet Deep Dive explains that each match comes with Objectives, Traits and modifiers, such as changes to passing speed, shot speed or stamina for specific positions.
The key rule is appearances. Every time you win, each player on the pitch loses one appearance, and a player with no appearances left cannot be selected. Each match offers up to 3 stars: you must complete the mandatory Objectives to progress, while optional Objectives add extra stars. Stars unlock tiered rewards.
| House Rule | Effect |
|---|---|
| Hot Zone | Goals scored in the marked areas of the pitch earn extra points |
| Position Hero | Goals from set positions earn extra points |
| No Rules | Fouls and offsides are switched off |
Practical tips:
- Spread appearances from the start. Appearances drop with every win, so do not start the same core players in every early match.
- Read the Objectives before kick-off. Clear the mandatory ones first, then chase optional stars.
- Use the reset. You can replay a match to earn more stars. Player appearances are refunded and stars you already earned are kept.
- Match your Game Plan to the situation. EA suggests moving toward Attacking when you need a goal and back to Defensive when you need to protect a lead.
New PlayStyles and Gameplay Changes
Two new PlayStyles arrive with Season 27:
- Incisive Through Pass: through balls with better target selection and greater lead distance.
- Dead Ball: free kicks with more curl, pace, dip and control to bend the ball around the wall.
During the Limited Beta, EA also tested Driven Lob Through and Slide Tackle. Neither appears in the Season 27 patch notes.
Other gameplay changes listed in the patch notes:
- Better foot selection for finesse shots, and more accurate short-range headers for players without the Precision Header PlayStyle.
- Attackers stop their runs earlier, cutting down unnecessary offside calls.
- Triggered runs in the first few seconds after kick-off are less effective.
- Corner-kick positioning now reflects your team mentality.
- Goalkeepers cover the goal better against direct free kicks.
Local Commentary and New Celebrations
The official Season 27 release notes mention updated local commentary in Mexican Spanish, Indonesian and Thai. The update also adds five new goal celebrations (Predator, Flex, Fist Pump, Rockstar and Tuxedo), along with refreshed menus, entrance animations and in-game tooltips.
