MLBB Asian Games 2026 Group Stage Results

Eleven teams played a single round robin across four groups on Tuesday, September 29. Groups A to C had three teams each, Group D only two. The top two in each group advanced.

GroupResultsWinnerRunner-up
AMyanmar 2-0 Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan 1-2 Hong Kong, Myanmar 2-0 Hong KongMyanmarHong Kong
BIndonesia 0-2 Malaysia, Malaysia 2-1 Saudi Arabia, Indonesia 2-0 Saudi ArabiaMalaysiaIndonesia
CPhilippines 2-0 Jordan, Jordan 2-1 Kazakhstan, Philippines 2-0 KazakhstanPhilippinesJordan
DCambodia 0-2 MongoliaMongoliaCambodia

The Philippines and Myanmar were the only teams to win two group matches without dropping a game (4-0).

Indonesia 0-2 Malaysia

Indonesia opened at 07:00 WIB. According to the draft records on Liquipedia, Malaysia took game one in 21 minutes 7 seconds with Esmeralda, Aulus, Eudora, Obsidia and Belerick. In game two Indonesia drafted Barats, Nolan, Cecilion, Obsidia and Carmilla, but Malaysia closed it out in 16 minutes 6 seconds on Uranus, Hirara, Eudora, Claude and Atlas.

Indonesia 2-0 Saudi Arabia

Malaysia then beat Saudi Arabia 2-1, so Indonesia vs Saudi Arabia at 10:50 WIB decided second place. Indonesia won 2-0 to finish 1-1 (games 2-2), while Malaysia topped the group with a 4-1 game record. This match was not on the official MLBB Esports broadcast schedule for day one, and Liquipedia has no draft record for it.

The Bracket: Indonesia and Malaysia Can Only Meet Again in the Final

The knockout stage is single elimination with no lower bracket. Group winners face runners-up from other groups, which puts Indonesia and Malaysia in opposite halves:

  • Top half: Myanmar/Cambodia vs Malaysia/Jordan.
  • Bottom half: Philippines/Indonesia vs Mongolia/Hong Kong.

Indonesia, winners of that quarterfinal, then beat Mongolia 2-0 in the semifinal, while Myanmar beat Malaysia 2-0 in the top half, and Myanmar beat Indonesia 4-0 in the final. The Philippines go home without a medal; Malaysia and Mongolia take bronze.

The official results system marks both semifinals as medal matches, and there is no third-place match on the schedule. As in Honor of Kings and Pokémon UNITE at these Games, both losing semifinalists receive bronze, so Indonesia’s quarterfinal win guarantees them a medal.

The Opponent: Philippines Built Around Team Liquid PH

The Philippines field five Team Liquid PH players: Sanford (EXP lane), KarlTzy (jungle), Sanji (mid), Teddyqt (gold lane) and Jaypee (roam), with Kelra also in the squad. MOONTON describes them as looking to defend their standing as MLBB’s leading competitive region.

They beat Jordan 2-0 and Kazakhstan 2-0 in Group C. Spin.ph and Philstar report that KarlTzy scored a Savage on Paquito in game two against Kazakhstan and finished that game 12/1/5. Speaking to Philippine media afterwards, KarlTzy said the team was happy but would not get complacent, because their next opponent was Indonesia.

Indonesia vs Philippines Head-to-Head in MLBB

Before this quarterfinal, Indonesia had lost their last five meetings with the Philippines; the 2-1 win on September 30, 2026 ended that run. The earlier results come from Esports ID and we checked each one against Liquipedia. Both nations used different rosters across these events.

Indonesia’s Last Esports Medal Chance at These Games

As of early Wednesday, Indonesia’s only esports medal at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 is silver in Pokémon UNITE. Honor of Kings lost 0-2 to China in the quarterfinals (see our HoK quarterfinal recap), PUBG Mobile ended without a medal after Thailand took gold, and Identity V went out in the group stage. Indonesia are not entered in League of Legends, so MLBB is their final esports event.

Where to Watch, and the Free MLBB Rewards

In Indonesia, the matches stream on Vidio and the MPL Indonesia YouTube channel. The English broadcast is on the official MLBB eSports YouTube channel.

MOONTON is also giving away in-game items. Reservations to watch the October 1 final through the in-game Asian Games event run from September 16 to 30, and they have now closed. The “Beyond Legacy! Asian Glory” recall effect can then be claimed free from October 1 to 5, and the avatar border goes to all players from October 1 after the champion is announced. Details are in our Asian Games 2026 esports schedule. If you need diamonds for skins or events, Mobile Legends top up on ItemGame only needs your User ID and Zone ID; players on Philippine accounts can use the MLBB PH top up page.
